Privacy policy for the weather sites at https://weather.mzaeemkhan.com/ and the Android app com.mzaeemkhan.bakwaasweather. Last updated: 2026-11-01.
What we collect
Approximate location, only if you allow it: your position is rounded to about 10 km on your device and sent to our server to fetch the weather, and to BigDataCloud to look up the town name. We do not store it. Searches for a town are sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service. Anonymous counts of button taps (event, country, city page, message category) — no name, account, IP address, device ID or cookie — are kept for 90 days to see which features are used.
What stays on your phone
The last weather you saw (for offline use), which messages you have already seen, and the country you chose are kept in your browser or app storage. The daily notification in the Android app is scheduled on your phone; no push server is involved.
Ads in the Android app
The Android app shows a banner from Google AdMob. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and ad interactions to show and measure ads (personalised only where you agree; in the EEA, UK and Switzerland the app asks first). See how Google uses data from partner apps. You can reset or delete the advertising ID in your phone's settings. The website shows no ads.
What we don't do
No accounts, no tracking cookies on the website, no selling of data. Weather comes from Open-Meteo and MET Norway, earthquakes from USGS and alerts from GDACS; these services receive only rounded coordinates from our server, never anything about you.
Permissions in the Android app
Location (optional, for your local weather) and notifications (optional, one reminder a day). You can turn either off in your phone's settings.
Children
The jokes are meant for teenagers and adults; the service is not directed at children under 13.
